Indian and Shark aren’t necessary parallels unless you come across the Ganges Shark. The only true river shark in the world, this species is Critically Endangered (IUCN Red List) and largely known from museum specimens collected during the 19th century from the lower reaches of the Ganges-Hooghly river system. Overfishing, degradation or river habitats, sand mining, and dams continue to create unforeseen challenges hardly understood by mankind. Its fins and jaws remain in high demand in international animal trade, and it is fished by locals for meat and oil. This single stroke Loop design, created by celebrated artist Rohan Dahotre, highlights our contradictory existence – praying to powers that belong in nature, while compromising its many forms. Take a stand. Now!
